There is an element of truth here. Those closest to her knew she was terminal and would not live until the election. One does not die suddenly from cancer. It is a slow, painful process and the last few weeks require almost constant care. I contend they knew since late August or early September her death was imminent and they tried to keep it hidden. Maybe this was going to be their October surprise.
I would about bet that she's been on ice for some time now, but they were afraid the secret was about to get out, and they couldn't hold out any longer.
