Its just over 7 lbs with 2.5-8 Leupold vx3i and weaver aluminum bases and rings. Its not so much the total weight as it is how butt heavy the rifle is. I'm not looking to make it a sheep rifle, only drop a little weight in the right place to help it be more balanced.


If you could live with 4-6 oz more weight you could add some weight to front of forearm. I have wittled out narrow pockets in forearms and epoxied in strips of the lead weights used for duck decoys . The kind of lead weight that when you store the decoy you wrap it around the decoy neck. I think they weigh 8 oz. but you can cut it to the desired weight and epoxy it in.
