Check out Gibsons in Kerreville. This is an old time chain discount store that has largely disappeared. It has the feel of a 1950-60s hardware store. I bought a nice Kahles scope there for $300 so sometimes bargains are available.

The brew pub in Fredericksburg has decent food and good beer. My favorite place is the Hill Top Diner a few miles to the east of Fredericksburg, if you go for Sunday brunch make a reservation.. Ottos right behind the Nimitz Museum is very good and next store is Fat Boys with pretty good tacos.

San Antonio is a mecca for Gun Shops with Dury's, Topperweins and many others.

If you do the Fredericksburg to San Antonio route look up Josie's Kitchen in Blanco a hidden four star restaurant. There is the Redbud Cafe and Uptown Blanco too which are both good. Go the country route from Luckenbach to Alfred both great dance halls and beer joints.

Wear your FN mask too as we have had a huge spike in Covid-19 cases recently.
