I would concur with the bleeder blades. They do tend to help with the blood trails in my opinion. As for energy, A good, razor sharp cut on contact broadhead will easily go through a whitetail with your current setup if you don't hit a major bone like the shoulder. I've had many complete pass threws with the old Bear broadheads(with bleeders) and cedar arrows from bows as low as 42 lbs. Don't over think it.

Used bear razorheads several times even on elk. Actually got a pass through on a bull many years ago with just the 2 blades with a 60 lb. American recurve.
