It can handle the recoil of my 45/70 no problems at all.
But a spring gun is an entirely different animal. I'll talk to Burris, but that still might not tell you the correct answer. Burris told me that a scope would be fine on a spring gun, I broke two of them on an RWS 350. Burris fixed it the first time. After it broke again, they gave me a new scope. I put in on a centerfire rather than break the new scope. I've yet to have a Leupold or Bushnell Elite break on a spring gun.
