Cain't think of a single reason to......
There are some large herds that hangup in fairly densely populated areas around here. The seasons are short, mostly on private, and primitive weapons/shotgun only. A buddy used to hunt it, but permission got hard to get. (I never did. Don’t like hunting small, private parcels, or with shotguns.

Kinda funny, F&W implemented the seasons based on landowner complaints about the elk being hard on everything. But they don’t want to give access to hunters.
