On a related note, an ethanol plant here in Nebraska evidently couldn't figure out what to do with over 100 tons of toxic waste and just ended up letting it rot. They had leaking waste water liners and had been discharging waste water illegally. Forced to shut down for now at least. Mead Nebraska

The one nearest here sells the grain for feed.
They catch the carbon dioxide and turn it into dry ice.
Only waste from that place is sewer water.
