They’re all good. The Hornet does a lot with a little, once you get it figgered out. I stumbled on my Browning by accident, browsing my LGS. Spotted a very pretty single-shot in the rack and asked to see it. Turned out they had four left of the five they received. The counter guy had chosen his first, but let me take my pick from the others. His must have been a smoker, because mine is really nice. The tag said $695, and I traded two of my other rifles for it, reserving the gloss Vari-X II 3-9 from one of them for the Hornet. Perfect match, and it’s stayed dialed in for 20 years.

Neither factory load I tried did very well, but using Ross’s advice and seating bullets way out near the leade made all the difference. It’s my favorite rifle, one that will never depart until I do. When my sons divvy up my stuff, pretty sure this one and my Fieldcraft will go first and second.
