Stupid people. What could more christian and compassionate than a good economy with many opportunities for the poor to elevate themselves and prosperous people with money to give to charites and worthy causes.
I don't think they are stupid. The org is a Trojan horse. Stupid people may have gone along with them, and now those stupid people are pizzed. Now the org puts on their shocked face in order to maintain cred with the stupid people. It will probably work.
