After months and months of shelling North Vietnam, a lot of gunnersmates from the five inch gun mounts are reeling from ears ringing. Couple buddies of mine say it's just like they stepped out of the mount. Navy offered no ear muffs back then.
I'd rather die in a BAD gunfight than a GOOD nursing home.
