We've had a lot of rain around here the past week and the water levels are high. It's driving the beavers crazy. They're even out all day repairing and building up their damn dams. Which means the trails I maintain on my land are become flooded. I have a like/hate relationship with beavers. If they don't flood my trails and my hunting areas they can stay. However, this spring they've been ridiculous.

Yesterday I decided to thin the herds. I took out a 1918 250-3000 that I redid years ago, actually my first post on the forum I think, with a K2.5 in a Stith mount and 75gr HP. There must have been close to 20 beavers in the pond that's giving my issues. I shot 8 of them. I wasn't able to get them to take pictures and was hoping today they would have floated to the shore but I saw none. Either they sunk or the wolves, bears and/or coyotes got them.

In any case this setup made short work of them. Almost like aquatic prairie dog hunting. A fun day for me, not so much for the beavers.
