Looking at history, there are examples of gained liberties and blessings.
They are somewhat rare though. Especially the God given liberties that America has enjoyed. Even those were tempered by tyranny that even patriotic men didn't even recognize or acknowledge.
Now we have willingly given up far more liberties in exchange for tyranny....."a little so called security."
Men of every age group and demographic has proven that they are willing servants of the powers that should NOT be.
Do I think that things will EVER go back to normal?
ONLY when Christ destroys this mess mankind has brought upon itself will there be any semblance of the way things should be.
He will establish His Government upon His shoulder. Isaiah 9:6
