It sure is windy today. Had a peak gust of 47 mph a while ago, and they say this is only the appetizer for some stronger winds tonight. I live near the mouth of a canyon through the Wasatch Front, and it serves as a "nozzle" to focus wind coming from the east. There's a cold low passing south of us, and the flow around it is the reason for the canyon winds.

As an artifact of the easterly wind, my digital rain gauge is flipping like a see-saw, telling me I got 1.31" (so far) since midnight. But not a real drop. Fortunately, there's a way to correct the totals. More wind, rain, and then snow coming through Thursday. Ahhh...April in the Rockies!
