Yes and the same issue with Captialism vs Crony Captialism.
With a Democracy you can have Captialism.
With Crony Captialism you don't have Democracy.


The great fail with democracy is that voters cannot be trusted to vote for the good of the country as a whole but will time and time again vote for their own selfish wants. These come in the form of social programs and hand outs.

Go ahead and mention austerity measures to control national debt and see how fast you DON'T get elected.

With a Republic you can have Capitalism. I'm not sure it's sustainable with democracy.
