Except it's now illegal to delete in all states. So delete at your own risk, but the BPD EGR cooler will probably out live the truck, and it'll never plug up with soot like the factory original.

If you're not running hot tunes and/or pulling over weight trailers up mountain passes you will probably never run excessive exhaust gas temps (EGT). I've had a pyrometer to measure EGT on my 7.3l for 15+ years and have never ran the EGT hot enough to worry about. I was told I should have one by a diesel shop that serviced my pickup, I won't say it's a waste of money but it hasn't saved my engine either. It's probably a great idea if your one of those guys that are trying to squeeze every last once of HP and torque out of a diesel pickup.
