Right now the Feds are looking to clear out some Bison from the Grand Canyon area. I will not be pursuing this hunt for several reasons but mostly, you do all the work of hiking in, shooting, cleaning and quartering the animal, and packing it out. You pay for this privilege and DO NOT get to keep any of the meat, bone, or hide. It all goes to the tribe, but hey you get to pay for the experience of taking a Bison.

Yes it says volunteer but the cost of hunting is not reimbursed, so not free.

Hard pass. Besides, instead of quartering the animal and packing it out, I would have to cut it into much smaller pieces and make several packing trips out.
