Old thread, but here goes: I like the convenience of a bolt gun and internal magazine for unloading the chamber, after the excitement is over and you go on your way.
It can be a PIA to take a mag out, work the charging handle to get the round out, stick it back into the mag, then reseat the mag. This isn't to mention that bulky magazine getting hung up on your shifter or whatever else you can think of.
I don't own any ARs and never have, but have been around the platform enough and shot them enough in and around vehicles to know they aren't what I want for a rifle that never leaves the pickup.
