I like the tang safeties on my 77's. I think it's about as good a way to go as any. That said, I've got a lot of different kinds of rifles, shotguns and handguns. I've never had a problem adapting to whatever configuration I'm using at the moment and I've never found any to be particularly inconvenient.

In cold Wx I hunt & shoot with thin gloves .... I DON'T like tang safeties.
