The noise isn't really an issue, as I won't shoot any handgun without hearing protection. In both cases, the scopes collect a certain amount of fouling from the redirected gases.


Just to add: I also have a 7 1/2" Mortal (not Super)Redhawk and with 300 grain +P loads of 2400 (per a Brian Pearce article 12 years ago or so) the recoil is negligible. A Super Redhawk is probably about the last .44 Magnum I would consider for Magna-Porting.
