Not sure what you mean by older. How old is older for the one you are selecting for rebore? The 405 Win has a COAL of 3.175”. As stated previously it’s way too long for a 94 (2.6” COAL) or even an 86/71 at 2.8” COAL.

444 Marlin is close to the 405 in ballistics and the 450 Marlin exceeds, both work fine in modern 94 actions (post 1978 or so). Same for the 375 Win.

Don’t know if your 94 selection and barrel has enough meat to rebore to .429” or .458”. If they’re older than 1965 and showing good condition, they’re worth keeping the way they are in my opinion based on return investment.
