I've been watching a youtube channel of a guy who focuses on electric bikes. There are 3 types of kits you can buy to convert a regular bike to an electric bike. Chain, mid drive and direct drive

The cheapest is a chain drive kit. You can get one for about $125 and can go all the way up to a direct drive kit like Trek bike shown on this thread for several hundred dollars.

I installed an 80cc 2 stroke kit on the bike last year and it was fun to play around with but not very practical. However I think an electric bike is a much better option for speed and is quiet.
