Recently moved my Dad (92 years old) into an assisted facility, he finally began needing some help to take care of himself. We lived about 1000 miles apart, so some logistics were at play. Note that I am the only one left in our immediate family to take care of this.
While removing the valuable stuff to take with me, I was going through his shooting stuff and found these bricks of .22 ammo, and a couple price tags I thought were interesting.

But the biggest surprise in the ammo box was a Beretta 948 I had no idea he had.
When I asked him about it, he said he brought it back from Italy when at port in the Navy serving on the USS Albany, a heavy cruiser in the early 1950s, a gunner's mate on a twin 3" gun turret.
He told me he gave a guy $20 for it.
