Hi K-K,

Make mine handwerk words: "Not sure a .375 H&H could be better put together, congrats on a fine rifle and enjoy!"
I must add I like the scope mount bases more than Talleys because they are lower. And about the rear mount hanging over the ejection port I also like as is because it allows to use a scope with a long ocular bell like Schmidt & Bender without going to much further back, rather dangerous in a .375 H&H... I don´t see this little base projection as a loading/unloading issue at all. And, by the way, I would like the forward base a little backward without entering the ejection port, just in case, to use a short tubed riflescope. I had one in my FN AKAH .30-06 by machined another groove in the long forward part of the base, close to the screw and rotates the base 180º. That way the ring can be put more to the rear. Also have in my Win 70 pre 64 made in 1954, 3XX.XXX serial number range, a set of the original Warne Premier bases and rings made that way from the factory, by Greg Warne itself, in the early 90´s. The rear base protruding somewhat forward and the front base machined with the stop in the midle so the ring is in line with the rear part of the front bridge. Works great!!
