Live auction, but this already went by once. Ended last night and was relisted.

It's a summer of 1980 99E in 250-3000 with 20" barrel.

The interesting parts are:

1) that the 99E Version 2 was only catalogued and produced in 250-3000 in Styles 1 & 2 (1960 & 24" barrel) and Style 8 (1982-1984 & 22" barrel). It shouldn't exist in 1980, especially in a 20" barrel.
2) The 99E changed to 22" barrels in 1980, and this has a 20" barrel. That alone wouldn't be tremendously interesting.. but it's probably a clue.

I think the rifle is a "factory parts gun" where they used a leftover 20" 99A barrel on a 99E. The 99A also went from 20" barrel to 22" barrel in 1980, so maybe they used a number of loose 20" 99A barrels in 243/300/308/250 on 99E's in 1980?

I'd have probably bought it except for that lever boss weld repair. Be interesting to know what they did to break THAT.
