What's funny is to watch a dubbed show with subtitles turned on. The English subtitles often don't match the dubbed language. And the subtitles sometimes don't really reflect what the actors are saying in their native language. My German is pretty basic but several times I've listened to German dialogue and they switch American slang for whatever the actor said or just botch the whole meaning entirely.

Now that subtitles are so ubiquitous I'd much rather watch that than a dubbed movie or TV show. The voice actors usually aren't as good as the originally cast actors.

Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery.
Hit the target, all else is twaddle!
