I know the Montana residents are laughing at us and thinking "you can shoot those elk from the roads, thanks for kicking elk out of the mountains for us." Which I know is true, I've had a few drinks in the bars in MT.
As a Montana resident, I can assure you most of the experts pontificating on a bar stool here know next to nothing about actual elk hunting. Elk killing perhaps, but not real elk hunting. You guys did it right, and it's not an easy thing to do to showing up from out of state and getting it done in proper fashion. Good on ya!
