In thirty one years of daily carry I've had to display a weapon 4 times when dealing with two legged varmints. I've never had to discharge it.
On each occasion just the display was enough to diffuse the situation.
I've put down many a snared or trapped hoglet or wounded critter and a couple charging boars.
The boy shot this one and we tracked it. It charged, I pushed the boy out of the way. The hog knocked me over but did not hook me. I followed him and he charged again. Put 7 hardball rounds out of my Glock 36 and he dropped at my feet.
Ya!
