FWIW, I got a used Savage Model 11 and a 2-7 x 33mm Leupold Rifleman at Cabela's for a budget coyote 'truck' gun. Ended up being surprisingly accurate with 55 gr FMJ and effective on hogs with 64 gr Winchester lead-free hollow points. Like the lower profile scope and the resulting diminished difference in sight/bore axes. Think my 13 y.o. will get her first doe with it after the first of the year. Good luck.
