I've spent alot of time in that area of the state ,specifically the northwest part of that section from 201 to the us canada border. Although I'm not an avid bird hunter and it's been 3-4 years, some years I shot grouse most days on the roads while running coyote traps, sometimes 2-3. Other years I might shoot 2-3 birds in a week. But keep in mind this was very minimal effort and not even getting out of the truck unless they were standing in the road. Like I said it's been a couple years so I might not be able to tell you where the perfect age cuts are right now, but if you choose to make the trip I can certainly point you in the right direction .
