Hospitals are corporate profit centers no health care. They make big bonuses for putting you on a respirator and keeping you there as long as they can
This isn't limited to only respirators (vents?), it applies to everything they do.
If you are over 18 and don't have a Living Will, you should get one. If something goes wrong with you your family may mean well, but the hospital people will string them up for every cent they can get with you as the means. A Living Will is one of the few ways you can stop them.
