Why did god do that to the PNW?
Maybe to show how quickly vast layers can be laid down.
Just look at the 15' layer of ash on Oregon Highway 138 15 miles east of Diamond Lake. The ash came from the explosion of Mt. Mazama about 7500 years ago, leading to the creation of Crater Lake.
