The 10mm really is a versatile round. Stout enough to work on tougher stuff, not so harsh that it's uncomfortable to shoot, available in compact/light (relatively) carry guns with higher round count mags, lots of barrel options for folks to grab a 40 SW barrel to put in the same frame......it's got a lot going for it.
