Charcoals, silvers and champagnes all have a recessive gene commonly referred to as dilute. Charcoals are actually black labs that look frosted, or dark gray in color. Silvers are dilute chocolates, Champagnes and dilute yellows. AKC does not recognize the dilutes as their own color so they are registered as whatever the base color is. They are becoming more and more popular every year.

This is only our third litter in 7 years and the first for this bitch. We are not a breeder or kennel. These pups are raised in our house and get tons of attention. With the first 2 litters we had 9 each and all were sold by 6 weeks. I think this time it's a combination of time of the year and the economy that's making it harder to find good homes for them.


They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
