The 250 AB worked excellently for me on a good black bear; but so did the 286 Hornady and 286 NP. But recently I got a good deal on some 320gr Woodleighs, so will load up some at +2400 fps for a spring bear hunt as an alternate to my .458 WM - the .458 one day and the 9.3 the next, etc, until a good bear shows up.

Yet, I think that 285 - 286gr for the 9.3 x 62 is like a 180gr in a .30-06, sort of the best all-around performer for a wide variety of game from medium to large.
