I don't think Putin will invade because he's already won.
Ukraine will do anything he wants. NATO will not have to put forth any sanctions. His foot is already on NATO's throat due to the Nordstream Pipeline, and Germany will more and more act like a satellite of Russia as long as Germany is able to save some face. What good is NATO without Germany?
Remember Georgia (the small country formerly part of the Soviet Union, not the US southern state) a few years ago? Haven't heard much from them lately.
