I have been a proponent of #8's and #9's for turkeys since I started hunting them about 2000.

I refuse to pay exorbitant prices for turkey specific ammo when plane Jane, 1250fps, #8's will do the job just fine.
The target on a turkey is the head and neck. Three and a half inch #4's IS NOT necessary.....unless you try to body shoot a turkey!

My favorite, and most effective, duck ammo was a Remington "Hi-Brass" #9's.
