I know I'll take some flack for this but here goes. The best bang for the buck binocular out there right now are the Kruger 8X42 Outbacks. I bought my first on the recommendation of John Barsness (Mule Deer) and couldn't be happier. Subsequent ones proved to be just as solid.

When Kruger went four-up, a lot of their inventory was gobbled up and sold off pretty quickly. There are a few remaining NIB ones on ebay right now. I believe when they are gone, that's it. The price is stupid cheap and I've had mine long enough to see how durable they are.
