According to the Barnes ballistics charts, the 35 Whelen can launch a 200gr TTSX at 2700 fps (by the way, certain handloads can go almost 200 fps faster), but starting at 2700 fps the Whelen will arrive at 400 yds with 1816 fps. If the 35 Remington starts out at 2238 fps it will arrive at 200 yds with the same 1816 fps. Thus, for all practical purposes the Whelen has twice the range of the Remington, but if 200 yds is your huckleberry then so is the 35 Remington
