Homeland security itself is a threat to this country.

Creation of Homeland Security was the single worst act of government in my lifetime, and I've been saying that since before Bush established it. It is a nascent Gestapo, currently staffed by incompetents but the machinery is in place for classic secret police.
Like the Department of Education, it does more damage than good but will never be shut down as long as normal politics continues.
