I bought my first centerfire rifle in 1967. It was a Herter's .30-06 barreled action that I put in a Herter's semi-inleted stock. I got drafted into the US Army before I really got to use it, then through most of the '70s that rifle kept my freezer full of elk, deer, and antelope meat.
