The reason "I" would not buy any 30 grain 17 caliber bullets is because the Berger 25 grain bullets do everything I need done (and have for many years!) in my 17 caliber centerfire Varmint Rifles.
And as far as your "readily available" ANYTHING (reloading component wise!) remark goes - well that was good for a laugh.

Berger doesn't make the 30 grain .17 anymore. If you click on the link you sent you will see that they are discontinued. With the "readily available" comment, I was really referring to readily available during normal times, not now with the shortages. I know the Berger 25 grain are good at short to medium distances, I have several boxes of them left as well as Hornady Hollow Points...but I prefer the 25 Vmax as my current barrel is one in nine twist. But at longer distances the Bergers suffer too much wind-drift because of their low bc. Berger 25 grain is .152 v .230 for 25 VMax.
