That's interesting for sure. The independent Honda mechanic that I mentioned earlier said that the transmissions in the heavier van and SUV of that vintage (compared to the lighter Honda cars) were good for maybe 100k to 150k. It's been many years since we talked about it, but from what I recall his opinion was that Honda adapted the transmission design from their cars to the van and SUV. Even though he specialized in Hondas, he told me to buy another make/model instead of the Pilot/Odyssey/Ridgeline.

That stated, I don't know what were the root causes of those failures. Maybe just a T/C?
