If anyone bitches about someone using A1 or 57 on their steak after they marinating or rubbing spices on the steak, I find that interesting. What's the difference, you are changing the flavor of the steak.
What about salt, pepper, garlic?
Always laugh at the wannabe purists who talk about the flavor, but use them.
