Killed a 32 incher today - about average for our prairie rattlers.
Ours are marked differently from yours, and only occasionally exceed 3 feet.
Our western diamondbacks are a different story, though!

I guess they are called a Prairie Rattler. He was 3 and a half I bet.

Similar, but slightly different, than our local variety.

I've seen a few bullsnakes here, yesterday was the first rattler.
I believe the drought has affected their numbers, too.
For several years, I'd average ~ 14 per year - now it's been one for several years, now.
