I haven't tried everything out there. And I'm curious about the CZ75 and it's variations.
But from my experience, if I limited myself to the 9mm cartridge, in a currently made non plastic pistol, I'd prefer the Sig 226.
But if I were going to use a 2 lb + pistol, I'd more likely go straight to the 1911a1, and it'd be in a .45. Think Dan Wesson. Or call crazy John and see what he's got, but that'd stretch your posted budget
