I would rather be 15 minutes early to work than a minute late. Lived by that rule for 47 years at my job.
Co-workers who are perpetually late really annoy me, especially those who live within walking distance when I have a 26 mile drive.
It's all about having a proper work ethic. You either have one or you don't.
