Torque is the only thing similar, 525 ft-lbs torque in the 03 7.3L. My 99 is around 450 ft-lbs, and it does it at 1600 rpm. Peak 235 HP is also achieved at 2800 rpm. The Eco-Boost doesnt achieve peak torque until 2800 rpm and peak HP is around 5K rpm.

As good as those Eco-Boost numbers are it'll work harder and never pull as well as an old 7.3L even from the early 90s. Not to mention the limitations on towing you have with a 1/2 ton truck.Y'all can keep your turboed 6 cylinder gassers, I'll keep plugging along in my old diesel getting 19 mpg empty and 11-12 towing a 10K lb trailer.
