To be brutally honest about this, it was just downright dumb for a young, good looking White woman to go jogging by herself, unarmed, in a city that is overloaded with Negroes. It was a murder-rape just waiting to happen. It was no different from that stupid bear lover in Alaska that played with the bears.........and got eaten by them as a result.
Those of us who have lived around them know exactly how they are, and if you're smart, you don't put yourself into ANY situation like Eliza did. I hate what happened, she didn't deserve it, but she was tempting fate, and fate almost always wins out.
