Well, it's pretty clear on its face. But, yes, there are several snakes regarded as non venomous that actually produce venom. Hognose snakes, garter snakes, green snakes and some water snakes. It's hard to get a garter snake to bite. Nearly impossible to get a green snake to bite. Hognoses will bite. They produces a lot of bleeding and itching. They are toxic to their prey. Water snakes readily bite. I've bled like a stuck pig from water snake bites. Their venom will makes a frog or fish go limp very quickly. These snakes are usually considered non venomous, but in reality, they produce venom that can result in mild symptoms in humans, but are very effective on natural prey animals.
