BB, I ran into a problem with a 1911 in 10mm just this past weekend and failure to fully chamber the rounds and go into battery was the issue. I'd left a bit of bullet shank exposed, and that was the root cause. I'd seated the same bullet just like that in some .40 S&W loads and my XD gobbles them up, but my 1911 in 10mm don't play dat. I seated those 10mm rounds just a little deeper and now the pistol feeds and chambers them just fine. As long as you're not at max charges already I don't see why you couldn't try the same thing.
